This page keeps some personal items online, notably software patches and links. I used to run FreeBSD at home, so every once in a while I needed to adapt software written for other unices. Then I wanted to try something different and switched to Linux. Coming from FreeBSD, where kernel, complete development tools, basic utilities and a bulging ports collection of applications form the operating system installation, I expected utter chaos, inconsistent interfaces and management, the need to consult manual pages every other minute. I began with handwritten HTML, switched to the python Docutils and am currently using Asciidoc with just a little bit of m4 macro preprocessing. If you want to know, the sources are over there. None of the tools are perfect, but I will propably stay with some kind of wiki markup for the time being.
